Terms of Service

1. What the service is

Avrora gives a tour guide’s customers — and visitors who find the site themselves — information about Istanbul: places worth seeing, practical guidance for your first hours in the city, a map, and the day plan your guide prepared for you.

It does not replace a guided tour, and it does not sell tours, tickets, accommodation or transport.

2. Accounts

• You can get an account in two ways: through an invitation link from your tour guide, or by registering on the site yourself.
• If you registered yourself, you must confirm your e-mail address; the content stays closed until you do.
• You are responsible for the accuracy of what you provide. You may not open an account with somebody else’s e-mail address.
• Keeping your password private is your responsibility. If you think your account has been used without your permission, write to us.
• You may close your account at any time by writing to masengul@gmail.com.

3. How you may use it

You may use the application for your own travel. You may not:

• Copy, scrape or republish the content in bulk, or in a product of your own.
• Overload the service, attempt to bypass its security, or try to reach other people’s accounts.
• Use the application for anything unlawful or in a way that infringes others’ rights.

4. Accuracy of the content

Place descriptions, opening hours, prices and transport directions are prepared in good faith, but in Istanbul these change often. Please confirm anything critical — especially opening hours and prices — with the official source before you set out.

Some place descriptions are drafted with the help of an AI and reviewed by a person before publication. If you still find an error, tell us.

Maps and directions are for orientation only. Your own safety in traffic, on the water and on foot remains your responsibility.

5. Day plans and the guiding service

A personal day plan shown in the application is prepared by the tour guide who invited you. Responsibility for that plan, and for the tour itself, rests with the guide; the application is only the means by which the plan reaches you.

Visitors who registered themselves do not have a personal plan.

6. Links you share

When you share a list of places or one of your days, an open page is created that anyone holding the address can reach. Who you send that link to is your choice, and you can switch it off from the application at any time.

7. Intellectual property

The texts, design and software of the application belong to the operator. Some photographs come from Wikimedia Commons and remain under their own licences; map data belongs to the OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL).

8. Price

Use of the application is currently free of charge. If that changes, you will be told before the change takes effect.

9. Availability and liability

The application is provided “as is”. It is not promised to be uninterrupted or free of errors; access may pause for maintenance, faults, or problems in third-party services.

Liability for indirect loss arising from use of the application is limited as far as the applicable law allows. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.

10. Closing an account

Your account may be suspended or closed if these terms are seriously breached. Where possible, you will be told why.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Türkiye, and the courts and enforcement offices of Istanbul have jurisdiction. Mandatory consumer rights in your own country are unaffected.

12. Changes

When these terms change, the date above is updated. A significant change will be announced inside the application; continuing to use it afterwards means you accept the new terms.

13. Governing version

These terms are published in Turkish and English. If the two differ, the Turkish text governs.
